Orange eyes glared almost hatefully at the darkness that lay before him. These were the shadowed lands, where those between the Light and the Lost roamed, trying to figure out where to go. The young wolf watched as his shadow extended before him, seeming to reach further into the darkness; where he knew he should be.

Zero would not deny, the death of Beta Rile was a sad thing indeed.

However....

It was not he who'd spilled his blood.

The burns in the ground near his body had not been the work of Zero. They had not been the work of his Lightning Nature.

A Fire Nature wolf was most likely. The only other fire element in the pack aside from Alpha Berow was his son, Himas.

Himas was friends with Silou.

And Silou hated Zero.

Zero scoffed.

Lightning Nature wolves had long been known as superb fighters and could wield extraordinary powers of their element given the proper training. Without proper training and control on part of the user, their element could grow out of their ability to control it far too fast.

Zero was still considered a novice, in training. But that was because few in the pack would train him. Alongside him being a Lightning Nature, his slit eyes and dark appearance rendered him an ominous presence around other wolves. Some mistook him for a demon.

Though Zero didn't know the full course of his lineage, on certain occasions, he was tempted to agree with them.

Whether demon or simply feared Lightning user, Zero knew one thing.

Nothing would or could take him back to those lands.

And her last words to him as he left the lands had not been comforting, as a friend's should be. They were hateful, and filled with scorn toward him. And thus, his trust and friendship betrayed; Zero would never again return.

Never again.
